Rumors have heavily trended around social media that broadcaster Erwin Tulfo purportedly might resign as co-anchor of TV5’s primetime news program “Aksyon News.”
Fans and regular viewers of Akyson news may have noticed that the hard-hitting Tulfo has been absent from the television program close to a month now.
Luchi Cruz-Valdes remains as the only anchor on the news program.
According to a report published by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph), Tulfo has until June on TV5 before he’s set to move to another network.
Reports state that Tulfo was simply on temporary leave when regular viewers noticed his absence. Now it seems the broadcaster’s resignation is in full effect.
Erwin Tulfo had been the co-lead anchor for Aykson news for over 2 years.
Luckily for his followers, Tulfo will still stay on his morning radio show Radyo Singko na Punto Asintado.
According to the information gathered by PEP, Tuflo was not happy with TV5’s decisions to downsize his regular crew in the news department. Cameramen and assistant cameramen alike were either fired or asked for an ‘early retirement.’
These anonymous sources indicated that this was the alleged reason for Tulfo’s departure.
Both TV5 and Erwin Tulfo have yet to release any statements concerning these rumors.
God Bless
